Northwestern ASME Chapter

  • Directed efforts towards Innovative Additive Manufacturing 3D competition involving the design of a hovercraft resupply vehicle utilizing as many 3D printed parts as possible.
  • Conducted general meetings, information sessions, guest speaker events, and representing Northwestern ASME at the 2018 International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition.

  • Designed a physical electronic stimulation system to allow engineers to perform software endurance tests on mobile devices.
  • Analyzed interaction of custom clamps and electronically driven belts to maneuver stylus arm across device screens through 3D CAD modeling.

Northwestern Product Design Course Project

Client: Shirley Ryan AbilityLab

  • Evaluated physical forces on gait training patients to devise a novel harness, allowing patients with pressure ulcers to gait train without further injury.
  • Utilized product and cost analysis to select straps, fasteners, and tightening mechanisms to maximize load bearing ability.

Boston University Nanofluidics Research

Nanoscale Energy-Fluids Transport Lab, Boston, MA

  • Compared the nanofluidic flow behavior of water across bare silicon with that across graphene-coated silicon surfaces.
  • Designed and manufactured graphene-coated silicon chips using photoresist, laser etching, oxygen plasma, and acid baths.
  • Quantified the effect of graphene's low no-slip boundary using a high-speed microscope camera and MATLAB code to perform regression analysis.
