Within Illinois Tool Works, I worked with the E.H. Wachs business unit, specializing in utility valve maintenance trailers as well as large diameter pipe cutting and weld preparation. My largest project involved working with assemblers and designers to develop the standard work for subassemblies used on the assembly lines. This allowed increased technician cross training between work cells, but will also facilitate any outsourcing in the future.
I also worked with vendor managed inventory consolidation, streamlining the supply chain for various parts and assemblies to optimize data-driven production schedules. I also analyzed the production floor layout and identified areas where racking could be installed or extended to use more vertical space.
