Carium
Software Engineer, 2022 - 2024

Growth
Working as a backend software engineer, I developed automations and analytics for healthcare teams. From building RESTful microservice APIs to creating data pipelines, I learned so much about software engineering practices, communication, and taking initiative. For example, integrating with the REST APIs of multiple electronic health records (EHR) systems allowed care team members to work natively in the Carium interface with real patient data from external providers.

Impact
I migrated cellular device analytics from Redshift to new real-time APIs, reducing end-user dashboard delays for all users across all health systems. Later, I engineered a multithreading pattern that decreased IO bottlenecks that was drop-in compatible with all of our microservice AWS Lambda functions.

Projects
I built numerous health metric automations to monitor tens of thousands of patients and alert care teams, including blood pressure and medication monitoring workflows. I also created a Django and React dashboard for a new video call feature with billing and time tracking data export for billers.
I saw opportunity internally to improve our tooling when searching for files that most closely match a reference, so I created an independent project, Busca!
